AN UNPRECEDENTED CELEBRATION OF FEMALE HOCKEY IN MANITOBA

PROJECT 100 presented by Scotiabank is a special weekend that brings together approximately 1,000 girls in celebration of the tremendous growth and development of female hockey. PROJECT 100 features a variety of exhibition games, skills camps and development clinics, and marks the largest single female hockey celebration ever hosted in Manitoba. The weekend includes a number of events including:
University of Manitoba Bisons vs. "Made in Manitoba" alumni
Saturday December 13th, (WFP Arena)
Pre-Game Ceremony, 6:45pm
Puck Drop, 7:00pm

PROJECT 100's feature game will see the University of Manitoba Bisons take on an a "Made in Manitoba" alumni team, comprised of past Hockey Manitoba players that have achieved tremendous success at elite levels such as Team Manitoba, Team Canada and college/university. Players include Christine Bestland, Rebecca Hewett, Melanie Gagnon, Laura Fridfinnson, Stacey Corfield and many more notable alumni.
Hockey Manitoba encourages all hockey fans to come out and watch what will be the best collection of female hockey talent on the ice in our province since the 2007 IIHF World Women's Championships in Winnipeg.
A special VIP reception presented by Manitoba Pork Council will follow the game, and fans in attendance will have the chance to win tickets!
MTS Showcase Challenge
This is a high performance female development program open to Bantam-age female teams (ages 13-14) from AA and AAA leagues in the province. The MTS Showcase Challenge provides a setting for high performance teams to play each other while exhibiting the skill present in our female athletes in Manitoba. Eight (8) teams from rural Manitoba and six (6) teams from Winnipeg will each compete in three (3) games throughout the weekend.
Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest
Over 265 female hockey players between the ages of 7-12 are introduced to off-ice training, on-ice skill development and community involvement. Registration is free and all sessions are run by Hockey Manitoba certified coaches and volunteers. Special guest Meaghan Mikkelson, a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team Canada will assist on-ice and deliver a special presentaition to all participants.
A number of fantastic exhibition games from a variety of female leagues will take place throughout the weekend including the Manitoba Women's Junior Hockey League (ALL STAR GAME), Winnipeg Women's Hockey League, Sports Schools, Female Midget AA and the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League.
Female Peewee Challenge
The Female Peewee Challenge challenge will feature 8 teams from across the province participting in exhibition games to display the up-and-coming talent from across the province.
Hockey Discovery Day
Approx. 25 participants new to hockey will take part in on-ice and off-ice sessions designed to introduce them to the game in a fun, safe environment. Each participant receives instruction, a healthy snack and free equipment courtesy of Hockey Manitoba, Reebok-CCM, Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation!
Female Coaching Specialty Clinic
Hockey Manitoba will host a specialty clinic for approx. 25 female coaches looking to improve their practice planning and small area games instruction. The clinic will include both on-ice and classroom sessions and is FREE for those who regsiter.
